On March 28th 2019 the annual training seminar on Safety of Maritime Activities was conducted at “ZENON” Coordination Center of JRCC in Larnaca. The seminar was attended by Representatives of over 30 governmental agencies and other private and voluntary bodies that will be called to participate in Search and Rescue operations, close to the shore.

The participants were welcomed by JRCC’s commander, expressing his satisfaction for the high level of professionalism and cooperation between the involved teams dealing with maritime activities related to Search and Rescue and also highlighted the importance of the provision of effective Search and Rescue services, as an enhancement to the endeavors of the Republic of Cyprus to remain a safe and well organized destination for tourism.

The seminar was organized by the JRCC aiming to raise awareness on incident prevention and response and also on matters related to Search and Rescue close to the coast. Furthermore, improvement measures of cooperation between all the teams/services involved aiming to be implemented within 2019 were announced.
