On May 8th 2018, a delegation from AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) paid an informative visit to the “ZENON” Coordination Center of the JRCC Larnaca.

AHEPA was founded in the USA in 1922 by Greek immigrants in order to assist Greek community assimilate into society, as well as to preserve and spread the ideals of ancient Greece. AHEPA always supports the efforts of Cyprus and Greece in any field, in any way.

The delegates was briefed by the Deputy Commander of the Centre, Lieutenant Commander NAVY Demetris Kasinis, on the organization, operation and the ongoing upgrade programs of the JRCC and of the Search and Rescue System of the Republic of Cyprus, but also on the additional capabilities provided by the “ZENON” Coordination Center in crisis and evacuation incidents in the Middle East.

The delegates expressed their satisfaction regarding the overall organization and operational readiness of the JRCC, as well as the crucial and key role that are capable of playing in SAR, peacekeeping and humanitarian operations in the Eastern Mediterranean.
